Welcome to Zakk Wylde Marshall.com! If your looking for information on the limited edition Marshall JCM 800 2203ZW amplifier then you've found the place. As a proud owner of one of these rare beasts, I wanted to share as many details about this unique and already hard to find Marshall amplifier.

Wall of Doom Photos on The Gallery Page!

Check out the photos of Zakk's "Wall of Doom" on the Marshall 2203zw gallery page. There's also some great photos of the amp display at the 2002 NAMM show and a photo of Zakk's actual Marshall JCM 800 settings. That pic shows you exactly how Zakk set his amp. Thanks to Chad Dyer at www.zakkwylde.com for the pics!

Introduction to the Marshall JCM 800 2203ZW

This limited edition amp was produced in 2002, limited to a run of 600 units world wide, with 200 of them making their way to the US, the Marshall JCM 800 2203ZW Zakk Wylde Signature Amplifier is an all-tube model patterned after the original Marshall JCM800 2203 head.

Originally introduced at the 2002 Winter NAMM show (see photos of the amp at the 2002 NAMM show), the Zakk Wylde Marshall JCM 800 2203ZW was a real crowd pleaser. It features Zakk's and Jim Marshall's signature on the front panel, a Wylde designed Bulls eye/BLS front panel design, and a quartet of 6550 output power tubes that produce a full 100 watts RMS of scorching Marshall tone.

Zakk Wylde Signature Marshall

The Zakk Wylde Marshall amp features true hand-wired, all-tube circuitry, vintage style grille cloth, gold carry handle hardware, a Wylde front panel design, and a vintage style gold Marshall logo (small script). Visit the Inside The Marshall 2230ZW page of this site to see photos inside the amp.

Zakk Wylde, the guitar hero in Ozzy Osbourne's band, Pride and Glory, as well as his own Black Label Society, has used Marshall amps for years to get his signature sound. He collaborated with Jim Marshall to come up with custom touches to make the 2203ZW unique amplifier, both sonically and visually.

A matching designed 4x12 cabinet to was also available, the grille cloth and Marshall logo on the cabinet matches that used on the 2203ZW head. Although this cabinet looks similar to the 1960TV tall cabinet it is the same size as a Marshall 1960A cabinet.

To complete the limited edition Zakk Wylde Marshall JCM 800 2203ZW package, the lucky purchaser received a goodie package that included a deluxe user's manual with a personal note from Zakk, a bag of collectible Zakk Wylde/Marshall guitar picks, a custom head cover, and a certificate of authenticity. The list price for the limited edition run of 600 amplifiers was $2250 USD (head only).

Why the Zakk Wylde Marshall 2203ZW Is Collectable

With a limited run of 600 worldwide, the Marshall JCM 800 2203 ZW is fast becoming a valuable Marshall collector's amplifier. It sold out in the first few months after it's release. It is often compared to previous versions of the JCM800 but what is over looked by many Marshall users is the fact that it is does not have your common JCM 800 specs. The graphics, the tubes and modern effects loop are what make this amp unique.

Yeah I know, you can find some of those features in the Marshall JCM 800 2203x reissue but it does have different power tubes (EL34 vs 6550) and it does not have the unique look of the 2203ZW!

There has been many variations of the JCM800 over the years but Marshall was finally able to deliver the best of the vintage JCM 800s with the features of modern amps on both the 2203ZW and the 2203X. For more info on the Marshall 2203X click here.

Marshall Unvails The New Marshall Limited Edition MG15MSZW Zakk Wylde Microstack at Winter NAMM 2007

Marshall Amplification recently introduced the Limited Edition Zakk Wylde Microstack. Based on the MG15MSII Microstack, Zakk's "backstage" practice amplifier of choice, this new signature microstack offers big Marshall tone in a small cpmact amp. The MG15MSII Microstack shares the unmistakable look of Zakk's trademark Marshall "Wall of Doom" he uses whenever he plays live. Highlighted with gray grill cloth, gold piping, bulls eye graphics on the control plate and gold small script Marshall logos.

Measuring a mere 37"H x 15"W x 9"D, the 2-channel amp features both clean & Overdrive channels The 15-Watt head powers two 1x10" speaker cabinets, one straight and one slanted, for that classic Marshall stack look. Controls include Clean Volume, Overdrive Gain, Overdrive Volume and Reverb level, as well as a 3-way EQ network with controls for Bass, Contour and Treble.

The new Zakk Micro Stack amp features Marshall's proprietary FDD™ (Frequency Dependent Damping) circuitry, which accurately mimics the interaction of a tube amp's power stage with the loudspeakers it is driving. Additionally, the new microstack boasts a CD input, an Emulated Line Out and a Headphone jack that, when used, mutes the speakers, for "silent" practice sessions (a feature Wylde never uses!). Buy one of these babies today, plug in your Les paul and rip out your favorite Zakk Wylde licks!
